Distance Learning - How does it work?

Sage Training UK provides distance learning courses in Sage Accounts and Book Keeping for those people who wish to gain a certificate without having to attend any classroom lessons. These flexible study courses allow you to train around your work and family commitments to obtain industry recognised qualifications.

 

What course materials do I have?

Once you have enrolled onto a course, the appropriate training pack will then be sent to you in the post - normally within 5 working days. The training pack consists of a printed courseware manual, exercise files and where appropiate the corresponding software. The software provided with our courses are full working versions. Once installed on a PC the software will function for a period of 180 days. This is normally sufficient for you to complete your course and also allow time for you to practice and repeat the course again.

How do I Learn?

You work through our manuals which have been adapted from the same courseware that is used in the classroom and is accredited by the awarding body, Sage and ICB. They are non-complicated, jargon free, step by step manner.

Each computerised Book Keeping and Sage training pack consists of software, data files and a printed courseware manual. The manual contains a series of lessons and exercises for you to follow. At the end of each lesson you will be prompted to back up your data. When backing up data you will be creating a new data file that will then be used to continue the course.

At the end of the course you will have to back up the final data to a floppy disk or similar storage device and send it in for marking. From this data file we can see if you have completed the course correctly and if so, issue you with a certificate.

The course should take between 8 and 10 hours to complete and you can use the manuals time and time again for referencing.

Manual Book Keeping courses are provided in a printed workbook format with exercises and assignments. Mock exams are used to test the students knowledge and to provide feedback on any areas that need to be worked on. Once both the student and ourselves are satisfied that the subject has been learned sufficiently we will arrange a suitable time to sit the main exams.

All courses can be repeated free of charge apart from the cost of the exam fee for a resit.
